I am a nine year survivor of breast cancer and have just been diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Cancer gives me the courage to follow my heart's longing and do children's programs as well as sing inspirational songs at retreats.
My new diagnosis pushed some buttons I did not realize I still had but I directed my emotional energy into expressing itself through music. This new CD has 19 songs, 18 of which have been written and recorded in the past month! There are songs of anger, fear, silliness, but most of all acceptance and the peace that comes from within. One of cancer's gifts to me is a deeper appreciation of the simple things like sunshine on a wintry day. It is my hope that these songs can offer some comfort to those who are newly diagnosed or perhaps help caregivers to understand what is perhaps not being spoken but acted out. 80% of the proceeds from the sale of this CD will go to groups that support cancer survivors. It is my way of applauding the courage and honoring the human spirit that rises to meet the challenge of living a full life.
Hopefully soon I will have all the lyrics available on this site so you may see if it resonates with you.
May you hear the song within your own heart,
Evie
