Stress Busters
For the several years I have been doing inexpensive things to help our staff reduce stress through
such activities as greeting with mini gifts of appreciation and recognition, using humor intensives
in intense times, ( when we were preparing to move out of our building for a year.... I brought in
a talking tree that had all the staff laughing as it described the stresses of being a tree) and
teaching simple accupressure and relaxation techniques. Not only does this work with staff, but students
are very appreciative too.
When stress is reduced you find an overall healthier staff who can communicate their concerns and work
together as problem solvers.
I am able to help other schools set up a "stress busters" program or visit faculty and share relaxation
techniques that can be done anywhere and anytime (okay, some cannot be done while driving!)
